What If Resistance Is Just a Misalignment With Your Truth

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to let yourself down?

You make a promise — I’ll go to bed earlier, eat better, start that project — and before you know it, you’ve talked yourself out of it. Sound familiar?

Recently, I caught myself in that very cycle — and it got me thinking about how often we abandon our desires, goals, and dreams. Not because we don’t want them, but because we’ve been conditioned to believe we’re not ready, worthy, or safe to have them.

We procrastinate, avoid, and self-sabotage — and then feel even worse for not following through.But here’s what I want you to know:

Your resistance is not laziness. It’s not failure. And it’s not the end of the story.

The truth? Your resistance is usually a signal that something inside you isn’t fully on board — yet. That’s why I created a practice I call the Four-Body Alignment Compass — a soulful way to check in with all parts of yourself and gently move toward clarity and self-trust.



🧭 The Four-Body Alignment Compass

A soulful practice to move from resistance to alignment

When you feel blocked or stuck, don’t push through — pause. Tune in to each part of your being and ask what’s really going on.

Let’s say your goal is to start eating more nourishing foods, but you keep delaying it. Try this:


1. Physical Body – What does my body feel about this? Take a deep breath. Feel into your body.Is it tired? On board? Resisting change? Maybe it’s afraid of not having enough energy if you restrict too much. Your body is wise. Ask it what it needs.


2. Mental Body – What thoughts or stories are present? This is often your adult self.Does your mind say: “We’ve done this before and failed”? Or, “This is too hard to maintain”? Notice if logic supports your goal — or is trying to protect you with old stories.


3. Emotional Body – How does my inner child feel about this? This part of you might fear the fun is being taken away. Maybe she thinks healthy food means no joy, or that change equals punishment. Ask her what would help this feel safe, gentle, or even fun.


4. Higher Self – What does my soul say about this? Drop into your heart. Does this feel aligned with who you’re becoming? Does it feel expansive, true, and full of purpose — even if it’s unknown? Let your intuition guide you here. Everyone feels their “yes” differently.

As I’ve been using this practice myself, I’ve noticed just how often I was quietly pushing my own desires aside. So I began checking in with myself, asking:

What did I promise myself? Am I willing to honour that today?

Some days it’s a yes. Some days it’s a kind “not yet.” But the key is showing up — gently, consistently, and with devotion.

Because when you stop abandoning yourself, you start remembering who you really are.
